This is a long-term project, which will continually grow, be developed and hopefully continued. It is, however also one, which we can all manage with very little effort and extremely low costs. That is all the more important, because it serves ultimately for international understanding, and there are those taking part from corner's of the world that don't have much wealth.
"Interviewed by Friends" is designed to combat xenophobia, which is spreading more and more like a terrible desease.
"Interviewed by Friends" wants to try to reduce existing prejudice towards different cultures.
"Interviewed by Friends" wants to revive the good old-fashioned manners of debating, allowing for respect amongst the counterparts. A discussion culture that would champion contemplating a question thorougly and allowing others to think equally careful about their answers.
Of course, we have given ourselves rules of conduct. An answer audio must never be offensive, it must treat the one asking the question with the respect we all demand for oursleves. The interviewed, i.e. audio answering part also has to abide by another very important rule: never to spread an ideology or include personal attacks in his/her answers. (But, what friend would do that anyway, right?)
Becoming a part of "Interviewed by Friends" is easy to do for everyone. All you need is an internet connection and a computer allowing audio, and a possibility to send an e-mail for submitting your questions. It would cost you merely 10 to 20 minutes of your time, either once a week or one time only, depending how far your engagement reaches. Everyone can decide for him-/herself. So, let us make the world a bit better, let us exchange ideas with people from different cultures the right way, even if we will never meet some of them personally, so that we all may understand each other better. Perhaps become true friends over time. For, friends show no hatred, they don't start wars with you!
